The SME sector is the backbone of any national economy as it provides the most economic output, employment and it holds the key to the future development of the country.
Unlike large organizations, multinational corporations and listed companies, SMEs are different with different risk profiles and specific features that raise the credit risk.
In this respect, special considerations need to be addressed as part of credit risk assessment and lending strategies. The ANZ Institute now offers a learning series to commercial lending officers to enhance their skills and develop strategic thinking in SME credit and lending.
Participants who would benefit are bank officers involved in commercial lending to small and medium size businesses across the country. Among them would be credit and marketing officers, credit analysts and loan monitoring executives. Internal auditors would find this extremely useful in their audit activities. The credentials represented by the Diploma form the basis for assessing suitability for work roles in SME credit and lending. On completion of Module 1 to 4, the Executive Certificate in SME Lending would be awarded.
MAIN COURSE OBJECTIVE
This series initiates the development of SME business lending skills for banking and credit officers for their roles, among others, as credit analysts, and as credit and marketing executives. Upon completion they would have acquired a framework for assessing SME businesses and their potential for credit and lending and understand key risk issues of SMEs.
