Finet Associates as a work skills development organisation recognises the needs of employers and clients in the marketplace. For this purpose, Finet introduces and offers the LCCI accounting work training programme which leads to the LCCI Diploma in Accounting and a stepping stone to professional accounting and financial management.

Life for young people begin after school. Some proceed to a university education while many others opt for the workplace to earn and learn. For some people, it is a choice, but for many others who are less fortunate, joining the workplace in early life may be necessary. School leavers from lower income backgrounds and under-privileged circumstances across many communities may need assistance and guidance for a pathway to the their future.

Work opportunities in the world of commerce and industry have always been in abundance and available for young people who are ready. Coupled with the connectivity with today’s worldwide web, there is no shortage of opportunities. It is only a lack of awareness and poor preparation that prevents the young person from reaching those possibilities.

Finet Associates, is part of the ANZ Institute, dedicated to building human capital for the workplace and the larger community. Human capital refers to the capabilities to undertake activities, tasks and work that create value for the employer or customers. With the school leavers in mind, Finet offers a commercial skills human capital development programme for early work opportunities with career growth potential in the future – the LCCI training programme.

The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry – LCCI, (www.lcciasia.com) is a global industry and trade organisation which provided work-based certification in over 80 countries for the past 120 years. Its work-based certification are recognized  by employer organisations throughout the British Commonwealth, and increasingly in other parts of the world.

Finet Associates (Finet) is part of the ANZ Institute which is a dedicated human capital development organisation based in Sydney, Australia. Finet is a training company registered with Human Resources Development Fund, supervised by the Ministry of Manpower, Malaysia. To date, Finet has trained over 20000 executives in Malaysia and the ASEAN region since 1998. Among the organisations which sent their executives to attend Finet training include professional organisations, government agencies and companies, multinational corporations and financial institutions.

This LCCI – ANZ Institute training programme will be delivered by the ANZ Institute’s special team of training specialists with professional and industry credentials. The key members of this team are –

1. Diploma in Accounting and Audit

This is a starter programme for the young school leaver to acquire an initial set of skills for an entry – level job. The job opportunities in the commercial environment involving bookkeeping, accounting and auditing are endless, and with the essential skills, the school leaver can begin to earn-and-learn. This minimum qualification is also the basic requirement to purse the ACCA management and professional qualification, when the school leaver is ready for it.

The Finet – LCCI work training programme comprises the following leading to the LCCI Diploma in Accounting:

  • 6 – module learning and training :
    1. Financial accounting – LCCI assessment
    2. Management accounting – LCCI assessment
    3. Advanced business calculations- LCCI assessment, and
    4. Auditing skills – ANZ Institute assessment
    5. Computerised accounting skills- ANZ Institute assessment
    6. Business English – ANZ Institute assessment
  • Between 8 – 12 months duration – 2 to 3 times weekly class attendance
  • Online delivery with assignment – Scheduled 300 hours training
  • Entry requirements – School certificate with basic English

Upon completion the trainee also qualify for the Diploma in Accounting and Audit from the ANZ Institute. This opens up additional employment opportunities in accounting and auditing work in companies as well as in the accounting profession.

2. Diploma in Accounting and Finance

This is the starter programme with an option for finance work which is an alternative to accounting and audit work. Opportunities here are in the finance departments of companies, factories and banks. Duties include preparing staff payment, tracking cash flow and analysing financial information.

The Finet – LCCI work training programme comprises the following leading to the LCCI Diploma in Accounting:

  • 6 – module learning and training:
    1. Financial accounting – LCCI assessment
    2. Management accounting – LCCI assessment
    3. Advanced business calculations – LCCI assessment, with
    4. Financial statement analysis – ANZ Institute assessment
    5. Capital markets and operations – ANZ Institute assessment
    6. Financial management – ANZ Institute assessment
  • Between 8 – 12 months duration – 2 to 3 times weekly class attendance
  • Online delivery with assignment – Scheduled 240 hours training
  • Entry requirements – School certificate with basic English

Upon completion the trainee would also qualify for the Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the ANZ Institute. This opens a pathway to the finance department of an organisation and new roles in financial management work.

3. Diploma in Accounting and Management

The programme begins with the accounting content for the LCCI diploma which provides entry-level employment but it also provides a stepping stone for administration and management roles at the earliest opportunity when it arises. This provides a high degree of versality to suit the fast changing outlook of the young employee.

The Finet – LCCI work training programme comprises the following leading to the LCCI Diploma in Accounting:

  • 7 – module learning and training:
    1. Financial accounting – LCCI assessment
    2. Management accounting – LCCI assessment
    3. Advanced business calculations – LCCI assessment with
    4. Management and organisations – ANZ Institute assessment
    5. Communication skills – ANZ Institute assessment
    6. Leadership practice – ANZ Institute assessment
    7. Managing change – ANZ Institute assessment
  • Between 8 – 12 months duration – 2 to 3 times weekly class attendance
  • Online delivery with assignment – Scheduled 280 hours training
  • Entry requirements – School certificate with basic English

Upon completion the trainee would also qualify for the Diploma in Accounting and Management from the ANZ Institute. This opens a pathway for a supervisory roles beyond accounting work.

4. Diploma in Applied Management

The purpose of this programme structure is to increase the versatility in the job search of the school leaver. While the preparation in accounting work is undertaken, the young person is also made ready to take on a variety of management roles whenever the opportunity arises. Some people may quickly grow tired of the accounting work environment and wishes to explore administrative and management work opportunities. The Diploma in Applied Management prepares the person for the challenge.

5. ACCA - International Professional Accounting and Finance

The ACCA or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants is the world’s largest accountancy body with more than 700000 members and students. As a global organisation, its qualification is recognised in over 170 countries. A qualified member of the ACCA enjoys a strong professional reputation and acceptance by global employers inside and outside the British Commonwealth countries.

The LCCI work training programme is a work – skills training scheme to prepare for commercial employment in accounting and administration at various types of businesses and organisations.

2. Who is LCCI?

The LCCI is the London Chambers of Commerce and Industry which has been in existence for over 120 years. 3. Who is Finet Associates?

Finet Associates Sdn. Bhd. is an established training provider registered with the HRDF or PSMB, Kementerian Sumber Manusia Malaysia, or Ministry of Manpower and Human Resources. It has been providing  financial skills training to business corporations,  banks and government linked companies for the past 20 years, in Malaysia and in the ASEAN region.

4. Is LCCI programme a degree programme? What are the minimum entry requirements?

The LCCI is not a degree programme. It is a work-skills development programme designed to meet employment skills requirements. There are no formal minimum entry requirements other than basic English competency to complete the course.

5. What are the work opportunities with LCCI training?

The LCCI trainee, on completion, will be able to undertake tasks and work activities in accounting and administration duties in various businesses such as retailing outlets, restaurants, factories, and trading companies. The LCCI certified person will join the accounting and finance department these businesses to start their working careers.

6. What are the costs of the LCCI work training programme?

The LCCI work training programme costs RM5000 excluding direct examination fee payment to the LCCI, estimated at RM1000.

7. If I wish to enhance my accounting skills with management capability, what should I do?

Finet Associates will procure selected self-learning modules on management at a discounted price from the ANZ Institute.

8. Can I apply for training assistance?

Limited fee assistance can be offered to deserving applicants in the form of fee reduction or deferred payment arrangements.

9. Is there any further study pathways after LCCI? What is the minimum entry requirement?

The LCCI Diploma holder is eligible to registered to undertake the ACCA qualification.  The LCCI is the minimum entry requirement to register for the ACCA programme.

10. What is the ACCA and the ACCA qualification?

The ACCA is the largest professional accounting organisation in the world with more than 200000 members in 170 countries. The ACCA qualification is a professional certification in accounting and finance, which is also recognized in the United Kingdom as equivalent to a Masters degree.

11. Accounting is not my main interest. What can I do after my ACCA training?

The accounting programmes leading to the LCCI and ACCA certification open the doors to many other commercial careers beyond accounting and auditing work. In particular the LCCI and ACCA qualifications provide an excellent foundation for an administrative and management career in banking, manufacturing, distribution and retailing industries, and in the education and real estate sectors as well.

The LCCI work training programme is delivered online twice a week over 12 months with a minimum training time of 300 hours.
